Who We Are

SER is the Spanish verb "to be."
Service Employment Redevelopment
SER exists to help individuals from low-income communities to transform their lives through education, training, employment, and financial empowerment services.

  • We are the premier workforce service provider in the Texas Gulf Coast Region that prepares our community to attain socioeconomic inclusion in a global economy.
  • We put people in need back to work faster than anybody else; we are responsible and aligned with the labor market; we create pathways to good careers that pay living wages; and our clients increase their assets and build wealth.
  • The region's employers see the value of our product and they value the connection we provide to potential employees.

SER - Jobs for Progress of the Texas Gulf Coast, Inc. was founded in 1965 through the combined efforts of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the G.I. Forum, and the Department of the Navy. It began as a volunteer job bank for Hispanic Veterans and is now a nationwide network of 42 affiliates operating in over 200 offices.
