Training Manager

POSITION TITLE              Training and Development Manager
REPORTS TO:                   Chief Operating Officer
POSITION STATUS:           Full Time, Exempt
DEPARTMENT:                   Training
This position is responsible for performing work of an administrative, managerial, and professional nature under general supervision from the Chief Operating Officer. The performance goals, objectives and deliverables of this position will be defined by the Chief Operating Officer, by the agency mission, the objectives of the program, and through communication with the source(s) of funding for the program. Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for meeting all performance goals of the division.
The Manager of Training and Development supervises Training staff, resources and administrative processes to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program are accomplished. This position requires skill in planning, budgeting, and evaluating projects, along with specific expertise in the subject matter of the program. The Training and Development Manager must be able to apply a high level written and oral communication skill for important interactions with community agencies, sources of funding, internal contacts, compliance organizations, etc. Other responsibilities include serving as liaison and SER representative at meetings, and establishing and maintaining partnerships to advance SER's mission.
Business Development
·         Leads exploration and development of strategies and plans for developing new lines of business; i.e. training and construction related
·         Generates unrestricted revenue for organization through training products
·         Develop business plans for new initiatives as part of SER’s strategic plan and obtain resources needed to fund business initiatives.
·         Develops placement service model and “sells” model/service to other entities.
·         Develops key relationships that result in new business lines for SER
Training and Construction
·         Obtains accreditation for all of SER’s training programs; i.e. NCCER, OSHA, etc.
·         Oversees Trainers and ensures quality of training services that are responsive to client needs.
·         Develops hands-on activities associated with career tracks.
·         Manages community work projects such as relationships with Rebuilding Together and other training and construction partners.
·         Develops new occupational training products and training tracks in:
-          Job and Career Readiness, Construction and Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics, Customer Service, Office administration, Technology, Health Care, and other high demand / high growth occupations
·         Practices ongoing program improvement via customer feedback alignment with industry standards, employer/business feedback
·         Develops training products in response to employer/industry needs
·         Maintains ongoing communication with targeted industry/employers
·         Develops and manages system for maintaining client training outcomes
·         Achieves 90% or higher credential attainment
·         Ensures client feedback process in place and utilizes feedback to improve SER training services
·         Ensures all client records for certifications/completions are properly maintained and data entered
·         Obtains employer feedback on workforce needs and utilizes information to develop occupational training offerings within SER
Managing External Relationships
·         Maintains ongoing communication with all training partners,
·         Develops new relationships that result into training/funding opportunities
·         Strong leadership skills
·         Results driven
·         Detailed oriented
·         Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills
·         Proficient computer skills
·         Must be able to handle information in a confidential matter
·         Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training
·         Maintain confidentiality.
·         Interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
·         Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
·         Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, social work, or related field - Master’s degree preferred
·         Minimum of five years management experience.
·         Minimum 5-7 years’ experience direct experience in workforce development
·         Demonstrated flexibility and experience working with diverse populations and communities in need
