Ms. De La Cruz came to SER-Jobs for Progress to participate in the Green Construction Information Session on July 13, 2010. She is a single parent of three dependent children and a food stamp recipient. She was currently a part time massage therapist. She was interested in green construction training in order to receive consistent and dependable income. She switched her massage therapy hours to evenings and weekends because she still needed to support her family. 

Her enthusiasm, motivation and initiative helped her to successfully complete three trainings, Green Core Construction, Weatherization, and Home Energy Analyst. She also attended Business Etiquette class August 31, 2010.

Initially, Ms. De La Cruz was hired by Masco as a Contractor Inspector for weatherizing homes, with a salary of $14.00. On August 29, 2011, Ms. Crystal secured a new position with ESPA Corp., as an inspector working on City of Houston contracts.
