Avelia Q. came in to SER’s info session to learn about Green Core Construction training and Weatherization in June of 2011. Avelia is a single mother of 4 kids, who lives with her mother.  She completed Pre-Apprenticeship Green Construction Training on July 15, 2011.  On July 19, 2011, began working with Houston Rapid Transit. She will be doing general labor in construction of the new rail line, making $12.50 an hour.
