Angel came to SER in February of 2011 after seeing a flyer at Neighborhood Centers.  He is 20 years old and lives with his parents and two sisters in the Magnolia community.  He completed school but did not have any skills to secure a good paying job.  His father is in the construction field and was the only working member of the household.  In addition, his family also depended on food stamps to help make ends meet.

Angel began Pre-Apprenticeship Green Construction training. Upon completion, he was selected by PMG to participate in the Train-to-Hire Solar Screen Installation program. He was hired full time as a Solar Screen Installer with a pay of $12.00/hour.  Angel was able to apply skills learned in his training and help supplement his family’s household income.  Four months later Angel still works for PMG and is doing great work.
