The Job Readiness course is aimed at helping students to develop the resources and skills needed to effectively seek and gain employment. Classes will begin by learning basic computer skills, strategic job search, business structure, and critical thinking. Communication and workplace etiquette are honed in a variety of mediums including face to face, phone, email, and memorandums. Communication skills are delivered and practiced through one-on-one and group exercises in addition to mock interviews. By the end of the class, the students will have a strategic plan for employment, at least two resumes for various positions, cover letters, and email with the possibility for advanced students to create QR codes, blog sites, and portfolios to assist in gaining employment.
