Green Construction
Green construction has grown in popularity not only because of its positive environmental impact but because companies realize that green buildings have a positive financial impact. Green buildings are environmentally friendly because the purposeful construction and installation of energy and water reducing components. In addition, green buildings are constructed of recycled or renewable materials in order to achieve maximum resource efficiency. Practicing environmental responsibility and resource efficiency has become a focus for SER to provide in its programs.
Core Construction Skills
The training is a comprehensive introduction to construction that will cover construction math, hand tools, power tools, blueprints, materials handling, basic safety, and employability skills. The training also includes Your Role in the Green Environment that provides fundamental instruction in the green environment, green construction practices, and green building rating systems. Certification by NCCER.
Weatherization Worker
The training provides practical skills associated with the weatherization process, including the installation of insulation, air sealing, and correcting and installing ventilation; learn the basic theories behind energy consumption, humidity, and electricity. In addition, training components include different construction types and process. Certification by Ferris State.
Home Energy Analyst
The training is designed to provide the knowledge to correctly prepare a detailed analysis of energy consumption and to present recommendations on saving money through energy conservation to homeowners, building owners, and home builders. Certification by NABCEP.
OSHA Safety Training
The OSHA 10-Hour Training for the Construction Industry includes several topics valuable to construction related work such as fall protection, personal protective equipment, scaffolding, OSHA inspection procedures and more.
