The industry recognized certification course is designed to provide knowledge and skill for an entry level welder. Topics covered include welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, base metal preparation, weld quality, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) - equipment and setup; SMAW—electrodes and selection, beads and fillet welds, groove welds with backing, open V-groove welds, and open-root pipe welds, and joint fit-up and alignment.
