Does your business need a make over?

Wells Fargo Works for Small Business® Neighborhood Renovation Program Contests is now accepting applications, from now until May 30th!
This year Wells Fargo and Rebuilding Together will renovate four small businesses in designated economic development focus areas in Houston in collaboration with a design team. To enter, you will need to complete the Contest Application. Then, respond to four questions about your business in 1,000 words or less and submit three to five representative photos of the exterior and interior appearance of your business.
The Contest Judges will review and score all the entries from your city, and the owner whose entry gets the highest score will win a business renovation of up to $25,000! Plus, the next three highest scoring entrants will each receive up to $10,000 in renovations. The actual cost of the renovation will be dependent upon the type of business and the cost of implementing the recommendations of the design team. There are some Terms and Conditions that apply to winning a renovation, so please read the Contest Rules for more details.
Eligible Areas:
Your first step prior to entering is to determine if your business is located in an area that is targeted as an economic development neighborhood in the City of Houston. The economic development division in the City of Houston conducted analyses that revealed statistically significant clusters of industry as defined by the United States Cluster Mapping Project. Certain areas were prioritized to show the largest concentration of clusters where improving infrastructure and the efficiency of doing business in these places would be beneficial for the city’s growth and sustainability.
To be eligible to enter, your business must be located within both a neighborhood and zip code listed below.
Neighborhoods: East Side, Near Northside, and Third Ward.
Zip codes: 77003, 77004, 77009, 77011, 77012, 77020, 77023, and 77029.
Once you have determined that your business is in an eligible neighborhood, read the other eligibility requirements (A. Eligibility) in the Contest Rules. The rules include all the details about the Contest, including the four Contest Questions, the judging criteria, and what will be required if you are selected as a finalist or winner. You may also review the Application Checklist to make sure you have everything you need to complete the application. Once you start the Contest Application you will not be able to save your progress.
